Offroad Enduro Ladies will be at Arrows Rest on the 17th of March. We have marked a route that is easy, yet challenging. The route has a lot of up's and down's, some flat areas, and some brick sized rocks on an easy climb. The focus is not to make you ride over big boulders, or test your pivot turn or step up skills. It is to expose you to some very do-able terrain and test your endurance.

Accommodation

For those that need to sleep over, there are some nice places to stay at very close to the venue.

Participate in the Challenge

Can you do the most laps?

Because the loop does not contain any sections that require strong enduro riding skills, let's test the endurance aspect of enduro riding. Up to the challenge?

Hubbies and Boyfriends

The loop does not extend onto the hillside. Hubbies and boyfriends are therefore not allowed on the ladies loop, but are very welcome to go play on the koppie if they want to ride on the day.

Please let us know if you plan to join us on the day.

So you want to see what all the Enduro fuss is about, but you have very little experience in riding rough terrain?

    FAQ's

    Directions

Q: Do i need a license?

A: This is just a fun get-together. You do not need a license. Just bring your bike and your gear.

Q: Do i have to do the challenge?

A: Not at all. You can just simply ride the loop as many times as you want, as often as you want.

Q: Can i use this day to get a feel for what an enduro race is like?

A: Yes you can! This is not a race, and the terrain is not as rough as at the enduro races. However: You can make this day into a race simulation if you want. There will be others out on the loop with you. You will be overtaken, and you will have opportunities to overtake. There may be a bottleneck somewhere too and you will be exposed to following markers in order to stay on the right track. If you do the challenge, you will be exposed to stopping at a "Checkpoint", and many other race-like experiences. We do ask however that you do not try and go as fast as you can. There will be many riders that are new to the terrain. The focus is on exposing riders that are new to enduro to the sport, and to rather test endurance.

Q: I am a bit worried that other riders will come flying past me, or that the pro riders make me crash. Should i worry?

A: Not at all. It is not a race. The ladies with enduro racing experience that will be out on the loop with you are there to support you. Maybe give you a few tips if you ask, and help you where it is needed. They will not try and go fast around the loop.

Q: I have only ridden flat ground areas like Chimes, Maraisburg, Rhino Park, or MX. But i can ride my bike quite well. Will i cope?

A: The short answer is: We believe so! If you have never ridden on rocks before, you may take a bit longer on the one part of the loop, but you should make it without too much of a problem. We do not suggest that ladies that are still learning how to ride a bike try and take on the loop. But we made sure that the rocks that you will encounter, are small and you do not need any Intermediate or advanced enduro skills to complete the loop.

Q: I'm quite good at enduro already, but i want to join on the day. Am i welcome?

A: You most definitely are. Please note that if you do want to ride the ladies loop, you should not ride at race pace. Rather use the opportunity to assist and guide where-ever you can along the route and give back to the sport rather than try and get in a few fast laps. If you do want to do a hard ride, join the guys on their koppie ride on the day.

Q: What should i bring with me?

A: It is vitally important that you bring all your riding gear as well as a hydrapack that is FULL of water. There is a braai so bring some meat and whatever else you want to eat and drink, a gazebo if you can, and some chairs. Remember the rule: If you had a sip of alcohol, your ride day is over and your social day starts.

Q: I am not an OEL lady. Can i join?

A: All OEL days/rides/events are open to any lady. No matter if you are in a club, not in a club, the color of your hair, if you like cats or not, we do not care. You are welcome

Q: How much is entry?

A: Just the normal R100 entry for the venue is payable on the day. (Please bring cash)

Q: Can we buy drinks at the venue?

A: No. There will be nothing on sale. Please pack a coolbox
